College Induction

 Image result for springboardtvOn the first day of the induction week I was nervous, having not knowing anyone that would be joining me on the course. Luckily, the nerves were put to rest when I was introduced to Justin, Luke and Sofia. They thoroughly explained the course and what it entails and proved to be a course that I have a passion in. The introduction to some of the staff that work in the Creative Studios building allowed me to feel more confident during work and speaking with Staff.

Before lunch we took part in a ''treasure hunt'' task. It proved very helpful as I was able to become more familiar with the college and where to find certain aspect of it such as; LRC, SpringboardTv office and Other creative studio rooms.

 In the afternoon I began to have a taste in what the course will be like with a small video short project. During this we had the ability to create a storyboard introducing this aspect of screen writing. Previously I wasn't very knowledgeable with creating small projects with storyboards. To me it showed that I am comfortable with doing it and enjoy it largely. After we was able to go through campus and find places to shoot our project, this also aided in learning the college campus better.

My inspiration for Film and TV comes from my dad due to his love for it. Watching film throughout the years has given me this interest in how they are created and produced. I pursued my passion for this as I believe highly that I will go into this industry in the future. What interests me is film making and creating concepts that could be replicated into a film. This course proves highly that it will help me in the future.

Resources for Shot types A camera shot is when a camera starts and stops creating a piece of work. There are eight different shot types; Extreme long shot (XLS/ELS) This shot type is a wide view of a whole setting for example a city landscape or open priories with mountains in the background. This shot is to emphasize an expanse of space and or distance. This shot makes the audience feel like they are overwhelmed and there is a more dominant force. Editing

Editing Editing is the cutting, re-arranging or ordering of footage. Also in editing programs you can colour grade and do colour correction etc. Order of shots The meaning of a sequence will change dramatically depending on the ordering of shots. Its possible to show shots together to either show a close connection or to emphasise contrast (Juxtaposing scenes). One theory is the soviet montage theory. This theory by lev kuleshoe is a concept made in the 1920's called the kuleshoe effect. It is where showing an actors expression will have different effects depending what the actor is shown creating different intentions. Coined by sergei Eisentein the soviet montage theory is the idea that placing together seperate sections of film could create ideas or have an impact beyond individual shots.
