Creating a piece of work over the course of induction

During the last two days of induction we were able to shoot our project and edit it for it to be shown to an audience.

On day two of induction week we captured our video for our project and then we went into the sound booth to record voice over for the project. It was my first time being able to record a voice over with industry grade equipment. It allowed me to come to grips with how to work with programmes such as Adobe Audition. After using the sound booth we came together as a group on the final day and began editing and producing our project.

During editing we found that we had to re shoot a section of video to sync with the voice over better. Luckily Finley and Matt were able to record David in time for editing the remainder of the project. During the editing I picked out a couple of samples of music to set the scene for this ''TV advert'' styled short film. The music fitted the scenes very well. Then we began to form the final section of the film which included an array of brand products that we created as well as the company name to be shown at the end of the ad.

After we had finished all groups had to show their work to an audience (Media L3 class, Media L2 class and staff). It proved to be very beneficial as Media products and work is never shown to one individual such as a film so it was aiding me to become more familiar with showing projects I've worked on to others.

Our project proved to be good but needed a few minor improvements such as the music played very loud over the voice over at the beginning so I'm going to need to familiarize myself with adjusting audio in editing programmes.

Overall, the induction week was a great experience that proved it suites me and will further me to do what I want in the future.
